The Lakehouse - Sand Bar

This property is on the shores of Canandaigua Lake and is home to the Sand Bar, a great stop for good food and drink. Its construction follows a nautical theme, inspired by the old wooden ‘shack’ cottages and cabins originally dotting the lakeshore. The more rugged design fits the seasonal space with the timber frame allowing a simple wall structure and clean lines.

Adjacent is a barn-style timber frame event space, particularly popular in this agrarian region. A place for weddings and more, other ‘standard’ options were explored, but nothing quite matched the look and feel of heavy timber mortise and tenon construction for the large celebratory space.
