We’re looking for a public relations associate & content creator for our internal marketing team of Pioneer Millworks & New Energy Works. Half of the position is content creation, management, strategy of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Houzz, and Mortarr for each company. The other half is public relations outreach and management for our products and projects.

Skills and ability to:

  • Increase followers and interactions in Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Mortarr, and Houzz platforms
  • Write copy that flows with marketing objectives and helps tell our quirky story
  • Create a forward-thinking Content and Public Relations strategy and calendar that integrates with other marketing/sales objectives and yet is flexible for the spontaneous
  • Proactively take photos/video of process & people to help further tell our story
  • Help build and manage partnerships with influencers
  • Write press releases and story pitches. Is motivated to get press, and get it often. The more stories, the more back-links…the better.
  • Be able to establish metrics and report KPIs and ROIs

The right person:

  • Can demonstrate success in social media/PR for other B2B and B2C companies
    • Bonus if that is for a builder/architect/interior design or material manufacture
  • Is social and enjoys telling stories, taking photos/videos, and chatting with real people to get the shot or story
  • Has excellent grammar & spelling
  • Shoots for a high-bar and isn’t scared by a team that does the same
  • Sees feedback as a way to improve work, and seeks it out
  • Truly enjoys social media & community — sees the opportunities in them for sales & relationships
  • Is able to work in an open office, and has no hesitation to interact with craftsmen, clients, and management

Note: while we’re currently flexible because of the complexities of COVID, this position will require physically working in our NY office and in-person interaction with others.

The Job:

The finisher role uses familiarity with the technical aspects of wood finishing to enhance and complete custom work.  He/she uses a creative and organized approach to solve client needs with a wide reaching and forever changing palate of colors, textures, and finish mediums.

Machine Operator for High Performance Panel Production - NY

This role takes building plans to input in semi-automated tooling to create pre-fabricated enclosures in our HPEz shop in Farmington NY. Occasionally there may be need for on-site installation of panels–always with an emphasis on the energy performance of the home.

A demonstrated level of skill and experience in machine operating and computer know-how for inputting files, plus an understanding of high-performance building envelopes, site and shop tools, reading drawings, CNC and/or CAD experience will all be valued but are not required.

Production Engineer/Project Manager—NY

New Energy Works is adding a Project Engineer/Project Manager to assist in our transition into the semi-automated, pre-panelization market for custom homes and buildings. The emphasis, as all things New Energy Works, will be on high levels of quality components, service, energy efficiency, and sustainability in materials.

Here’s the picture: New Energy Works has long been known for our fine craft with timber framing and heavy timber construction. Less known is our equally long commitment to extremely high-performance building envelopes, enclosing both timber framed and non-timber framed spaces.  We believe and practice the basic truth that we have one earth—it needs us to do better in our building arts than we have been.  Our present pre-panelization program is about to get a serious influx in equipment and investment so we can expand our efforts to make High Performance Easy (HPEz), bringing more such enclosures to quality builders and homeowners in the area.

We are looking for someone capable to help build, implement, and manage this effort.  The ideal candidate may posses some or all of these skills:           

  • Understanding of building science and sustainable materials
  • Experience with AutoCAD/HSBCAD
  • Project estimating
  • Project planning and management
  • Material procurement
  • Resource management
  • Logistics

Project Engineer—NY

New Energy Works is seeking to add a well-rounded team member to our Farmington, NY office. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of residential construction techniques and be able to read blueprints. Although this position is titled, "Project Engineer", the role will require many hats to be worn, including; sales and admin support, project engineering and management, as well as helping to develop relationships with outside suppliers, contractors, and architects.

New Energy Works is a professional workplace with a great team and decades of experience. You will be working directly with the Timber Frame Engineering Manager and the Lead Designer, but also will have opportunity to learn from the company Founder as well. Our office almost always has at least one dog greeter.

Position Requirements:

  • Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm (40-45 hrs/week)
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 3D
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Well spoken and written
  • Able to travel ~10% of the time
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HSB_CAD software
  • Ability to write code (Tool Scrip Language is similar to C++)
