Blower door test’s the air tightness, and thus performance, of an enclosure. Tight enclosures mean better conditioning inside, which saves clients’ money (and the planet carbon) on the HVAC of a space. The testing team on a current project sent the following message, which made our install team smile.
“The top line news is we achieved a 0.48 ACH (Air Changes per Hour) on this test, which is well below the energy code limit of 3.0 ACH and even lower than the Passive House threshold requirements of no more than 0.6 ACH…Thank you to New Energy Works team for a precise timber frame and SIP panel installation as well as to Tommy and his carpentry crew for excellent window/door installations and additional air sealing measures taken throughout this build. That is an outstanding result—nicely done.” – Sean Flood, Prutting + Company Custom Builders
