Walking a client's site is such an important part of our design process. Getting an understanding of the topography, the views, the sun angles, the land's personality, and the client's wishes shape so much of the house design and orientation on the site. Our West Coast architect, David Shirley, spent time last week on a new client site, perched on a bluff, high above the Columbia river. A treat indeed.
