For this ski lodge in Stowe, Vermont, an abundance of Douglas fir timbers with a custom warm dark brown finish were used to create a truly singular visual space. There is a feeling of rugged solidity against any winter winds that may be blowing outside.

The indoor space is a timeless, strong, and earnest place to retreat after enjoying the surrounding mountain slopesā€”reminiscent of European great dining halls.
