"I recall the timber frame raising...one day to put the whole thing up! It was amazing, quite the ballet. I think timber framing marries well with modern aesthetics. In this case it hinged on detailing, with clean hidden connections, fewer timber braces, and open volumes. It was important to leave us, and the owners, to express the structure of the house, to leave that structure exposed, to allow it to be revealed.
