Entry Level CAD Drafter & CNC Programmer, OR

$22-$25 an hour 

We are looking for an entry level CAD Drafter & CNC Part Programmer to support our timber framing team here in McMinnville. You’ll be able to get your hands on the latest technology in the heavy timber industry by creating AutoCAD drawings, detailed shop drawings, and CNC cutting programs for our SCM Oikos machine. The ideal candidate has experience in drafting, woodworking, and CNC machining, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop AutoCAD drawings and shop drawings for timber framing projects.
  • Generate CNC cutting programs for heavy timber components, ensuring precise joinery.
  • Optimize material usage and nesting to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Work alongside engineers and production team members to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Review and adjust CNC programs to maintain accuracy and quality.
  • Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and refining production processes.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
  • Experience with CNC programming for timber framing, using software like EnRoute, AlphaCAM, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and structural design.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and cut lists.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

The base salary range for this position is $22 - $25 

 

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
