Mod in the Badger State
For this Wisconsin family and many others, hockey is a way of life that bonds everyone together. This shared passion took physical form in a large outdoor rink that connects to their modern, barn-inspired timber frame home giving everyone the chance to enjoy exercise and friendly pick-up games. The interior follows a contemporary aesthetic with an open volume floorplan under the clean-lined trusses. Each Douglas fir timber received a dark custom finish providing contrast.
...first time timber frame project and the team was great to work with. We worked together through the design and had a blast with them on-site erecting this beautiful family rec center. Looking forward to finding another client to do one again!
