High on the Hilltop
Overlooking treetops and the surrounding Green Mountains, this outdoor living space draws folks out from inside the home via a screened timber frame "bridge" to a large gathering area. The structure follows the natural topography and exposed bedrock of the landscape with intersecting angles and organic flow. Douglas fir posts top steel bases anchored to the craggy bedrock below, while custom screens and weather-resistant flooring combined with timbers above to form a comfortable space tough enough to endure the elements.
It's a very unique structure, with amazing views. The team took a complex project and made it look easy. The clients love it! They enjoy the sense of place and the level of craftsmanship in their new porch.
