Pre-panelization and virtual design; the creative and practical implications of offsite fabrication.

Productivity in home framing has shown dismal to no growth for years, yet enclosure systems are one of the biggest areas to benefit from high-performance building techniques. Pe-panelization is gaining momentum and project designs are being further developed virtually, with building modeling software. Some say this is where potential problems can be identified and solved immediately, prior to fabrication and prior to being on-site. Others may disagree.

There are both creative and practical implications of offsite fabrication. We're excited to have industry experts, Geoff Sosebee (of LEVER Architecture), Steve Burrows (of Baumatix), and our own Jonathan Orpin gathering for a lively discussion on pre-panelization and virtual design. Each will share knowledge, experiences, and what the future may hold for the building industry.
