Lakeside Living in the Finger Lakes

Keuka Park, NY

This is a family vacation home is on the site of a previous home where the homeowner, Vanessa, spent summers with her family as a child. Having fallen into disrepair the old house was demolished allowing Vanessa and Paul to purchase the property, and dream of their new home.

After visiting our shop and meeting our team, they enlisted our services to design and build their vacation home. Situated on a sharp hill that drops to the shore of Keuka Lake, the site was challenging, but similar to many other lake home sites we've built on. Our design group turned the difficult, steep slope into an advantage creating multiple points of entry, capturing panoramic lake views from nearly every window, and incorporating an expansive deck. A bridge connects to the upper level and main door of the home which has timber bunks that provide unique views of the lake as occupants can "lay" in the windows. The lower level floor plan is open, allowing visitors and the family to enjoy easy conversation from kitchen to dining to living rooms Reclaimed Settlers' Plank hardwood flooring flows throughout these rooms accented by custom maple cabinetry and an eye-catching blue island with cement top. Overall the home has a contemporary edge, combining a shed style roof with reclaimed barn siding, cable railings, and salvaged redwood.
