Alpine Heights

This client, a retired navy engineer, came to us with the dream to build an energy efficient timber frame home in northern California. At 3,000 feet above sea level with views of an alpine lake, the design called for contemporary clean lines, high performance building envelope, and large triple paned windows. The radio frequency kiln dried timber frame keeps the joints tighter and with less twist, and allows for a wide open floor plan. There will be a 12 Kilowatt solar array installed on the garage roof and thanks to the ample California sunshine, it will provide this home with all if its power and heating needs.
