Residential Construction Foreman — Farmington, NY

Experience

Knowledge of custom residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety. Must be an organized, detailed and quality-oriented site manager/superintendent with an efficient production mentality to manage several high-end custom residential projects from frame to finish. Must possess strong capability to manage and direct NEW construction team and all trades on site while staying on schedule and budget. Must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems while maintaining our high standards in quality control. Must be self-driven, hardworking, an excellent communicator and able to multitask in a fast paced environment.

Working Conditions

90% of time is spent working at job sites, both regionally and locally. Some driving is required. Valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements

Job requires the ability to perform tasks in all areas and aspects of construction and requires the capability to work on ladders/structures for heights up to 60 feet. The aptitude to work with tools and materials are essential along with the capacity to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required.

Carpenter — Farmington, NY

Experience

Proficient at the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, frame interior and exterior walls, read blueprints, utilize appropriate math skills.

Fine Woodworking Production Manager — Shortsville, NY

NEWwoodworks, our 20-year-old fine woodworking shop specializing in custom cabinetry, stairs, doors, and furniture crafted from reclaimed and sustainable wood products is searching for a Production Manager and Fine Woodworker. Our shop in Shortsville employs 15 total, 12 in the shop and continues to grow. This challenging position will require 10 years minimum of woodshop experience, 5 years minimum of specific woodshop management, but note, it is not a desk job. There are very few of those in our community of companies, as we prefer the hands on approach to leadership.

Our interest is in a positive, experienced, thoughtful and energetic leader to help improve our processes, support our excellent craftspeople, help the designers achieve their goals, and tell the boss when he's asking too much.

NEWwoodworks Woodworker — Shortsville, NY

Knowledge
Knowledge of wood, fine woodworking techniques and skills, stair and railing fabrication and installation, detailed metal fabrication a plus.  Must have previous residential construction experience, the ability to read blueprints, utilize appropriate math skills, proficient with industrial woodworking tools and the ability to supervise and work with others is critical.  Will train the right candidate.

30% of time is spent working at job sites, 70% shop environment. Some driving, a valid driver's license is required.

The aptitude to work with tools, timbers and materials are essential along with the capacity to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs for 50 feet is required. Strong detailed carpentry, stair or metal fabrication skills are important for this position.
